A Message Of Celebration From Bob Culver

All For The Match Celebration, January 10, 2017, Lincoln, NE

NCE Board President, Marc LeBaron with wife Kathy congratulate all.

As we begin 2017, I want to recognize and deeply thank our friends and supporters in both the private and public sectors for their great work in 2016 assisting Nebraska Cultural Endowment in meeting our financial goal. That success enabled a significant match from a wonderful Nebraska foundation. By meeting our goal, we continue to ensure financial support of our arts organizations and humanities programs through the leadership of both the Nebraska Arts Council and Humanities Nebraska. It is a proven fact that arts and humanities programs are critical to Nebraska’s future culturally and financially. First Lady Michelle Obama said, “The arts and humanities define who we are as a people. That is their power ― to remind us of what we each have to offer, and what we all have in common. To help us understand our history and imagine our future. To give us hope in the moments of struggle and to bring us together when nothing else will.”

Our work is not done, members of our board and supporters are committed to the continuation of raising funds for distribution to arts and humanities professionals and organizations that immediately benefit the citizens of Nebraska through high quality services, events and programming. In summary, I would especially like to recognize the leadership of Marian Fey, our Executive Director; Suzanne Wise, the Executive Director of Nebraska Arts Council and Chris Sommerich, the Executive Director of Humanities Nebraska and their respective boards for working up to the final minutes of 2016 to make this happen. Wonderful people doing amazing things.

Bob Culver is the Fundraising Committee Chair for the Nebraska Cultural Endowment Board of Directors.  Bob has been on the NCE Board and held this position since 2015.
